About us 

AnKa CC Build is a collaboration between our two companies that merges the design and construction in a way that you may recognize from TV shows where clients get a family run one-stop-shop project. Our combined experiences overlap the different stages in a project and makes the construction process run smoothly and efficiently. 

Our story started when we meet on a job walk where Ann created the design and the homeowner called in Tom for a contractor walkthrough of the project. That meeting changed both of our lives personally and professionally, being able to work together is a fantastic experience that also benefits our clients. We both truly love design, creating, building and together we can build anything! We bring a personal touch to the jobs we work on and strive to give our clients a pleasant experience along with a finished product that we are proud to be part of and the clients can enjoy for years and years to come.

My husband and I always have a strong to desire to share with the public, any professional, in any capacity, that we feel has done outstanding work for us. Having said that, we would like recommend Tom Lasater, and his company, Creative concepts, to anyone who is looking for and one of the best contractors that we have ever come across in the Los Angeles area. My husband and I are both Dr.'s who lived in a home in Pacific Palisades for over 20 years. We lived in an 8,000 square foot home, that we enjoyed enormously, while we were raising our children. But of course, time moves on, and when our daughter's left the nest, we knew it was time to downsize.  

Three years previously we had bought a 2,800 square foot condo in the Sea Ridge Estates, knowing that this was where we wanted to live when the time came to move on. It was built in the early 90's, and everything about the interior was not to our taste or liking. But, at the same time we knew the bones of this condo were perfect for what we were looking for. We had used Tom before when we decided to upgrade our daughter's bathrooms in our other home. He did a remarkable job, and the transformation was just what we were looking for. As a result of his previous work with us, we didn't hesitate to ask Tom to be our contractor, and to be the man in charge of updating our condo. It was an enormous undertaking, as basically the entire condo, all three floors, had to be gutted, and we literally had to start from the very beginning. The entire condo was demoed, until the only thing that remained were the four exterior walls. He and my designer worked beautifully together. There were so many walls that had to be ripped down, based on my vision of an open, beautiful beach condo. These same walls were essentially holding our condo in place, but Tom always managed to find a way, structurally, to make it work. Many beautiful architectural features were added, including molding, baseboards, tongue and groove ceilings, and wainscoting. He also does beautiful cabinetry work on site, and everyone always comments on our gorgeous cabinets in the kitchen area. The project took 8 months to complete, which is actually surprisingly fast, considering Tom had to rebuild our condo from scratch. All of his estimates, from timing to finances, were accurate, and there were no surprises. I chose to add 3 extra linear fireplaces, which was an extremely difficult task, but Tom never blinked an eye.

As the building continued, I added even more features that I discovered I wanted to incorporate into my home, and he always took the time to research the very best prices and quality. Tom is confident, easy to get along with, and even tempered. His personality was especially useful in having to deal with unreasonable HOA presidents. He is a master of diplomacy, and has had much experience in dealing with these types of associations. He never panics, because he knows, no matter what he can make anything work, and he does. Our new beach home has exceeded all our expectations, and then some. We are beyond satisfied, and extremely happy in our new condo. Tom turned our dream into a reality, and my husband and I will be for forever grateful! I feel I would be remiss if I did not also mention, that his team of workers are, without question, the best ever. They were always on time, honest and reliable. That is so very difficult to find these days. His foreman, Jose, speaks English fluently, and could do everything I asked for, if Tom were not available. He is incredibly smart, and a wonderful problem solver. No job was ever too big or small. Even now, if I have a problem with anything, Tom is over in a flash to fix it. I have given Tom permission to give anyone my phone number if they would like to know anything more. Tom, quite simply, is the best contractor you could ever hire.
